Domain Registration Procedures

Pending the accreditation of registrars by the registry operator, currently the registration of domains is carried out by four (4) caretaker registrars/ISPs. These are namely, EPTC, Real Image, Computronics and Posix.

The registration procedure appears below:

  1. Registrant puts through a domain request via a local ISP.
  2. Local ISP will process request. The processing involves:
    • Confirming domain is available [Currently, no domain reservation]
    • Assist Registrant with filling out form (technical details, etc)
    • Confirming Registrant details
    • Verifying in entity exists locally [No foreign proxies]
    • Receive payment from Registrant
  3. Local ISP will forward request to Registry
    • Directly – if they are caretaker Registrar
    • Via a caretaker Registrar otherwise
  4. Registry will verify request – if there queries will liaise with Registrar ISP
  5. Registry enters domain in Registry.
